Audrey L. Fink

It is with a very heavy heart, that our family shares that Audrey Fink, passed away at the age of 95. She was strong, independent, compassionate, funny, adventurous, fun loving and always had a beautiful smile on her face. Audrey had the most radiant spirit, and such a positive outlook on life, that impacted everyone she ever met. Audrey Lou Kellett Fink was born to Dorothy (Van Allen) Kellett and Gilbert Jay Kellett on March 2, 1928 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She attended Lincoln Grade School and graduated from Fond du Lac High School. Audrey and Winnie Fink were united in marriage on December 28, 1946 at Division United Methodist Church (now Covenant). Audrey was very dedicated to the church and her many years of church service included: Women’s Society of Christian Service, choir, bell choir, Sunday school teacher, history committee and many artistic projects. For 20 years Audrey was a seasonal arts and crafts teacher at Moraine Park Technical Institute. The following 10 years she and Winnie owned “Aud’s Flower Drying Service”, preserving wedding bouquets and recreating them on wooden plaques for display. Audrey enjoyed genealogy, and spent years researching the history of the Kellett and Fink families, and compiled a book for our family. She took great pride in her ancestors and discovered that Joseph Kellett, her great grandfather, owned the lime kilns at the now High Cliff State Park. In retirement, Audrey volunteered in the art classes at Parkside Elementary School and held craft classes at Lakeview Place and St. Francis Terrace for 3 years. Audrey was an avid swimmer, and swam laps with dear friends, for over 50 years! Other activities she enjoyed with the family were camping, boating, fishing, tennis, cross country skiing and horseback riding. She could always be seen riding her red moped all around the scenic roads while camping. Audrey and Winnie built their home in 1952 on the Fink family homestead, next to many of Winnie’s siblings, this area was affectionately referred to as “Finksville”. There were many adventures growing up with 30 cousins. Audrey & Winnie put in a swimming pool, had a go-cart track in the back field, and built their own camping trailer, just to name a few. While in retirement, Audrey & Winnie spent 20 years wintering in Florida on Pine Island, with their RV and enjoyed fishing, playing tennis, and bridge club where they met many new friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy & Gilbert Kellett, husband Winnie in 2008, son Robert Fink, daughter-in-law Joan Fink, grandson Joseph Fink, brother Gary Kellett, and brother 2nd Lt. Robert Kellett in 1944. Audrey and Winnie visited his gravesite in the U.S. Military cemetery in Epinal, France in 1973, and Audrey with daughter Nancy in 2016. They met the couple that “adopted” Bob’s gravesite and spent days with them at WWII memorials and in the village of Halloville. There they visited the cemetery as well as the battlefield. Audrey is survived by 5 children, 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Joyce Kellett, North Fond du Lac. Her children include: Terry (Robin) Fink, Fond du Lac, Richard (Joann) Fink, Fond du Lac, Winnie (Kathy) Fink, Fond du Lac, Nancy Stokosa, Stevens Point, and Diane (Kevin) Allen, New Berlin. VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM – Noon, on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Covenant United Methodist Church, 20 North Marr Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Covenant United Methodist Church, with Rev. Chuck Davis officiating. Burial to follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. Our family would like to thank The Woodlands of Fond du Lac where Audrey resided for 1 year. We are so appreciative of the wonderful staff for their loving care, it truly felt like a family there.
