Janice C. Hulderson

Janice Christine Melby Hulderson, was born on March 27, 1938, in Ortonville, Minnesota, the daughter of Odin and Ella (Moen) Melby. She passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022, surrounded by family. Jan spent her growing up years in Brainerd, MN. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1956 and from Brainerd Junior College in 1958. She married the love of her life, Raymond (Ray) Hulderson, in 1958 in Watertown, SD. She graduated from the University of Oshkosh in 1970, and taught in the North Fond du Lac School District for 27 years. Jan was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. She was a founding member of the PSI chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK), charter president, and held several other offices. She was a lifetime member of the WI Ed Assoc/National Ed Assoc. Jan also loved to quilt and was a member of several quilting groups. She was an avid sports fan, especially her Green Bay Packers! She enjoyed playing cards, canasta, cribbage, and Skip-Bo with friends and family. She loved hosting get togethers, traveling, and tea parties with her great granddaughters. Her love of life was evident in everything she did. Jan is survived by her daughter and best friend, Julie Gilbertson, granddaughter Crystal Hintze Gianopoulos and husband Shane, great granddaughters Emma and Kinsley Gianopoulos (the apples of her eye), grandson Jacob Hintze, sisters-in-law Jean and Cookie Melby, Wanda Hulderson, godson Tim Boyd, and many very special nieces and nephews. Jan was a dear friend to so many and truly was an angel on Earth. Jan is preceded in death by her husband Ray (1979), infant daughter Rebecca (1962), her mother and father Odin and Ella Melby, brothers Lloyd, Jim, and Joe Melby, mother and father-in-law Alan and Ethel Hulderson, brothers-in-law: Don, Jerry, and Randy Hulderson; sisters-in-law: Elsie Melby and Ione Hulderson; as well as her best friends Jan and Jerry Wendel, and many more. VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 9:30 – 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Memorial services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Hope Lutheran Church, with Rev. Phillip Enderle officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to ADK Psi chapter, the American Cancer Society, or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
