Bernice I. Mueller

Bernice Ida Mueller, 97, of Fond du Lac, was peacefully called to heaven on Monday, October 2, 2023, while still residing at her home. Psalm 116:15 – Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His saints. She was born on November 12, 1925, at Chaseburg, WI, to Herman and Ida Mundstock, and was the youngest of six children. She was baptized in December at St. Peter’s Church and grew up in LaCrosse, WI. She attended First Lutheran School and was confirmed in her Christian faith on April 2, 1939. She attended Dr. Martin Luther High School for two years and graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College of New Ulm, MN, in 1946. She taught in a one room school at St. Matthew’s of Oconomowoc, WI. On June 26, 1948, she married Gerhardt Mueller, and the Lord granted them 72 years together and blessed their marriage with seven Christian children. Their wedding text was from Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” This, Bernice did with devotion and loving care shown to her family, and by Christian example and witness. Bernice was of strong character, and had a private contented nature. New babies were her joy, as she was privileged to watch her wonderful family grow throughout her senior years. Her Savior blessed her with a long earthly life and then called her into His safe loving arms to rest in eternal peace and joy. Bernice is survived by her seven dedicated and caring children: Gary (Julie) Mueller of New Prague, MN, David (Linda) Mueller of Fond du Lac, WI, John (Barb) Mueller of Dousman, WI, Barbara (Jeffrey) Bomber of Eau Claire, WI, Linda (Thomas) Joos of Eau Claire, WI, Paula (Craig) Stelter of Mankato, MN, and Mark (Tamara) Mueller of Genoa City, WI; 33 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren with two on the way, one great great grandson; two thoughtful sisters-in-law, caring nieces and nephews, and many cherished extended family, helpful friends, very kind neighbors, and faithful caregivers. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, one brother and four sisters. Bernice’s family is so very grateful for all the kindnesses shown to all of us by others, but we are especially thankful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has brought to our family His true-life saving Word, and has now crowned Bernice with Eternal Life in Heaven’s glory forever. VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:30 – 12:30 PM, on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: A Victory Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Luther Memorial Church, with Pastor Andrew Schaller officiating. Committal service will be held at Estabrooks Cemetery for the family.
