Carol E. Jackson

Carol Elaine Jackson, 90 of North Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1935, in Green Lake County, the daughter of Benedict and Leona (Weber) Soda. Carol was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton, in April 1949. She was a graduate of from Princeton High School, Class of 1953. On October 11, 1958, she married Robert J. Jackson Jr. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2021. Carol was able to stay home and raise her children. After they had grown-up, Carol was employed part-time at the former Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, in the dietary department for 28 years, and part-time at Blanck’s Lake Aire Supper Club. Carol was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church until it closed at the end of 2018, she then joined Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Van Dyne Lioness Club since June of 1999, was awarded the Birch-Strum Fellowship Award in 2015, Honorary Lifetime Membership in June 2015, and certificate of recognition for distinguished service, loyalty, and devotion to objects of furtherance of Lionism and 20-year membership June of 2019. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching the birds, crocheting and playing Mah Jongg, which she did every week with five friends since 2003. Throughout the years she loved helping care for her grandchildren and later for her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children: David (Sally) Jackson of Fond du Lac and their children: Ryan, Tyler (Kayla), and Cody (Brooke), Diane (Patrick) Gossman of Fond du Lac and their children: Lee and Craig, and Daniel Jackson of Phillips and his children: Sarah (Gunard), Ben, and Amy (Trevor); bonus granddaughters: Kristin Jackson and Allison Gossman-Dana; 15 great-grandchildren, her sister Ruth (Kirby) Patten and her brother Merlyn (Vera) Soda, a niece, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and dear grandson Davey. VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev. Christopher Rathje officiating. Burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
