Catherine E. Drew

Catherine “Cathy” Drew, 72, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully, and into the arms of the Lord, at Hospice Home of Hope on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, after being diagnosed with ALS in March. Cathy was born on August 28, 1952, in Fond du Lac, to Anthony “Tony” and Marlene “Sue” Schneider, the second oldest of eleven children. Cathy started working at Mercury Marine as a senior in high school and continued working there after graduating from Goodrich High School in 1970. Cathy was hard-working and dedicated to the three businesses she worked at: Mercury Marine, JF Ahern, and retired from the United States Postal Service after 22 years. Working gave her purpose and great pride, so she continued working part-time at ARC Fond du Lac and finally “retired” again just this August from Pilgrim Church. Cathy married the love of her life Richard “Butch” Drew on October 16, 1982 at St. Patrick’s Church. They welcomed twins Sara and Benjamin a year later September 2, 1983. Cathy was an avid pool shooter and played softball in her early years. She loved the arts and gardening. She fulfilled her life-long dream when Community Theater cast her in Mamma Mia at the age of 70. She was her granddaughters biggest supporter and cheerleader. She was a quiet community supporter, never looking for recognition. Adopted families at Christmas, donated hundreds of coats for coats for kids, rang bells, was an ambassador for Santa responding to Santa letters that came to the post office. Enjoyed working concessions at Community Theater shows. Always willing to help with a smile. Her family gave her great joy. She is survived by her children: Sara (Wade) Stoinski and Benjamin Drew; her granddaughters: Iana (Landon) Arthurs, Kali and Kennedy Stoinski; her siblings: Wendy (Bob) Plawski, Joan (Paul) Mittelsteadt, Chuck (Julie) Schneider, Diane Thome, Rose (Tim) Ahern, Bob (Brooke) Schneider; in-laws: Cathy Schneider, Beth Schneider, Mark (Maureen) Kraus; her mother-in-law Darlene Drew; brothers and sisters-in-law: Steve (Amanda) Drew, Todd (Joelle) Drew, and Eric Drew. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Richard “Butch” Drew, her parents Anthony “Tony” and Marlene “Sue” Schneider, infant brother, sister Debra Kraus, brothers: Raymond and William “Bill” Schneider; and brother-in-law Joseph “Joe” Thome; father-in-law Richard “Dick” Drew, brothers-in-law Michael and Glenn Drew. VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church of Holy Family Parish, 200 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church of Holy Family Parish. Inurnment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the family. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all the amazing staff at Hospice Home of Hope, who made us feel like family, and gave mom and dad such great care.
