Dallas R. Kissinger Sr.

Dallas "Butch" Robert Kissinger Sr., 77, of Fond du Lac, died at his residence on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 24, 1946, in Jackson, WI, the son of Robert J. and Bertha E. (Thurke) Kissinger. He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Class of 1964. On September 5, 1981, he married the love of his life, Becky Lynn Hansen, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Dallas had a life-long passion for farming, working on his family’s farm for many years. After the family stopped farming in 1983, Dallas began working at Roberts Trucking as a truck driver, mechanic, and dock worker. He continued his career with other local companies from trucking to well drilling to farming. Dallas was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbors in need, never expecting anything in return. He was a very mechanically gifted man who enjoyed tinkering and could fix anything. Like his father, Dallas enjoyed collecting various treasures and could repurpose almost anything. At Christmas, Dallas’ talents as a confectioner and chocolatier shined and his family and friends enjoyed sampling his various creations. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and always enjoyed sharing stories with good friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, his children: Dallas (Melissa) Kissinger Jr., Dustin (significant other Kristyn Yates) Kissinger, and Douglas Kissinger; his special niece Lisa (Michael) Irizarry; his grandchildren: Lily, Emma, Claire and Biscuit Kissinger, Marghret Race, Aryella, and Kaia Irizarry; his brothers: William (Barbara) Kissinger Sr. of Van Dyne, Robert (Julie) Kissinger Jr. of Van Dyne, and James (Priscilla) Hinz of Oshkosh, his brothers and sisters-in-law: Kenny Boeder of Coon Rapids, MN, Esther Hansen of Davenport, IA, Kurt (Sherrill) Hansen of Blue Grass, IA, Lori Brown of Seffner, FL, Hollie (Scott) Blakeley of Bradford, IL, Steven (Rita) Earley of Orlando, FL, David (Cheryl Lefeber) Earley of Fond du Lac, Donald (Andrea) Earley of Trier, Germany, Jodi (Robert) Melton of Groveland, IL; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Bonnie Boeder and Carol (Bob) Smidl; two brothers-in-law: Mark Hansen and Douglas Brown; and a sister-in-law, Susan Christensen. VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 9:30 - 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory. Burial to follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to SSM Health at Home Hospice.
