Dorothy (Juech/Steiner) Scherck

Dorothy Scherck, born January 22, 1930, to Harry R. Juech, Sr. and Katherine (Dillon) Juech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, went to be with her Savior on March 22, 2026, from SSM Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac, WI. Dorothy graduated from North Division High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1947. She was married to Daniel J. Steiner on September 10, 1949, and divorced on March 12, 1954. On April 6, 1956, she married Harold “Peppy” Scherck at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI and remained married until his death on October 12, 2014. She lived in Wisconsin (Milwaukee, Sheboygan, North Fond du Lac, and Fond du Lac) Florida, Arizona, and Minnesota. She left Mercury Marine International to retire to Florida where she served as Manager at Heather Golf and Country Club. Before her employment at Mercury Marine, Dorothy held a variety of jobs to help support their family during the times Peppy was laid off from the SOO Line Railroad. Dorothy was elected three times and served nine years on the North Fond du Lac School Board and was active as teacher and director of Sunday school at Community United Methodist Church in North Fond du Lac. She was a talented and creative seamstress and many of her loved ones were gifted beautiful items of her making. Her grandchildren have lasting memories of countless times with grandma both in Florida and when she visited Wisconsin and Minnesota. She invested her life in the lives of her family and in them her legacy of strength and hope will live on. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold “Peppy”, daughter Jane, sons: John Steiner and Mark Steiner; siblings: Harry R. Juech, Jr. (Beverly), Patricia Koepsel, and Thomas Dillon. She was loved and will be missed by her children: Terry (Roberta) Scherck and Jean (Mark) Fahning; grandchildren: Devin Scherck, Dillon (Mikayla) Fahning, Claire Fahning, and Johnny Steiner; daughters-in-law: Pamela Steiner and Diane Steiner; great grandchildren: Hazel Fahning and Marcella Steiner; nieces and nephews, friends, special friend Tom White, lifelong friend Ruth Dillon, and special caregiver Ashley Bloch. Cremation has taken place and a service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Community United Methodist Church located at 701 Minnesota Ave, North Fond du Lac, WI. Visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with service to follow at 2:00 pm. Memorials in Dorothy’s name may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity tots c/o Susan Norris, 25 Lakeview St, Lake Placid, FL 33852 or to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141. The family extends their thanks to the staff at SSM Hospice Home of Hope who provided such loving care to Dorothy in these last months.
