Douglas L. Birschbach, 38, of W8913 County Trunk T, Lamartine, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at University Hospital, Madison, surrounded by his family.He was born on June 9, 1970, in Fond du Lac, a son of Harold and Linda Randall Birschbach.He graduated from Waupun High School and served as the communication specialist on his family’s farm .Douglas was a member of Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, Woodhull, and a honorary member of the Lamartine Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid Packer, Brewer, Badger, and Nascar Fan.He is survived by his parents, Harold and Linda Birschbach of Lamartine; two brothers: Dean (Kim) Birschbach of Lamartine, and Darin Birschbach of Salt Lake City, Utah; three special nieces: Whitney, Lindsay, and Kelsey Birschbach; maternal aunts and uncles: his godfather, Larry (Jane) Randall of Lamartine, Louise Bovee of Fond du Lac, Dale Boeder of Ashford, Laurie (Phil) Heinz of Ridott, Illinois, Dawn Randall of Gilman, and Debbie (Dale) Meyer of Oakfield; paternal aunts and uncles: Melvin (Janet) Birschbach of Fond du Lac, Catherine Birschbach of Fond du Lac, Donald (friend Janice) Birschbach of Lamartine, Kenneth (Sharleen) Birschbach of Lamartine, Stan (Edie) Birschbach of Fond du Lac, Lyle (Carol) Birschbach of Fond du Lac, and Robert Landreman of Fond du Lac; and many special cousins.He was preceded in death by his great maternal grandparents: George and Evelyn Randall; maternal grandparents: Melvin Randall and Connie Randall; paternal grandparents: Francis (Olivia and Frances) Birschbach; paternal aunts and uncles: Charlie (Margaret) Birschbach, Frankie Birschbach, infant, Joseph Birschbach, his godmother, Rosemary Birschbach, Karen Birschbach, Margaret Birschbach, Jane (Joe) Losh, Jerome (Madeline) Landreman, Phylis Landreman, and Helen Landreman. The visitation will take place from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac and on Monday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008, at Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, N6499 County Trunk Y, Woodhull, with Rev. John Simon officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Doug's name.The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Doug’s special caretakers, Christopher Jones and Michael Sorell, the Van Ryswick Family, the staff at University Hospital, and the many other wonderful caretakers who have been a part of his life.
