Edward L. Uttendorfer

Edward “Ed” L. Uttendorfer, 83, of Fond du Lac, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2025, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Born on October 21, 1941, in Oakfield, Ed was the cherished son of Louis A. Uttendorfer and Hazel L. Uttendorfer (nee Priepke). He graduated from Oakfield High School in 1959 and honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. After his military service, on April 3, 1963, he married the love of his life, Sandra S. "Sandy" Brandt. They raised three children: Michael J. Mitchell "Mike", Shelly M. Uttendorfer, and Anthony E. Uttendorfer "Tony". Ed pursued a career in truck driving after earning his Diesel Diploma in October 1963. For over 40 years, he thrived as an owner/operator over-the-road truck driver. In Ed’s leisure time, he enjoyed various activities, including hunting, fishing, vintage cars, and even housework. He loved animals, particularly the cats he cared for and his beloved “grand pups.” He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra S. Uttendorfer of Fond du Lac; his daughter, Shelly M. Uttendorfer of Fond du Lac; his grandchildren, Thomas M. and Edward J. Uttendorfer (fiancée, Shayna A. Woods) of Fond du Lac; his great-grandchildren, Oliver Eli "Ollie" and Anthony Michael "Tony"; Sister-in-law, Patti Uttendorfer and his nieces and nephews from Oakfield. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James, and his sons Mike and Tony. Ed's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated ICU staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah for the compassionate and exceptional care during his final hours. Their kindness and support made a difficult time more bearable. We invite you to celebrate Ed’s life on Friday, May 9th, 2025, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a memorial service at 1:00 PM with Deacon Dale Paczkowski officiating. American Legion Trier Puddy Post #75 will conduct graveside Military services at Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield, with inurnment to follow.
