Lois S. Schwartz

Lois S. Schwartz, 91 of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away on October 6, 2022. Lois was born on June 19, 1931 to Alfred E. and Meta Marie (Schellin) Behnke in Milwaukee, Wis. After Lois graduated from Washington High school in 1949, she went onto study Speech Pathology at Marquette University. Following graduation, she worked as a speech pathologist for the Milwaukee school system. In 1956 she married James J. Schwartz also of Milwaukee and they settled in Fond du Lac, WI. They owned the Hobby Hut at 47 N. Main Street in Fond du Lac, which sold hobby items and later solely provided custom picture framing. Lois was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Meta Behnke. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Jerome Schwartz, and her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children as follows: Her daughter Debbie L. (Schwartz) Furman and son-in-law Lt. Col. John S. Furman, USA (Ret.), and their children Col. Michael S. Furman, USSF, and his wife Jenney (Sells) Furman and their children Paige, Catherine, and Samuel; and Lindsey (Furman) Schenck and her husband Timothy Schenck and their children Cole, Evelyn, Samantha, and Hailey; and Lt. Col. Thomas S. Furman, USA, and his wife Melissa (Gaunt) Furman and their sons Steven and Christopher. Her son Mark R. Schwartz and his wife Julie (Haensgen) Schwartz and their children Jacquelyn (Schwartz) Bump and her husband Michael Bump and their children Elizabeth, Wyatt and Jacob; Ann Schwartz and her children Ethan and Rachel; and Adam Schwartz. Her daughter, Gay L. (Schwartz) Wilson and her husband Lt. Col. Paul M. Wilson, USA (Ret.), and their children Cpt. Kyle Wilson, ANG, and his wife Christine (Graham) Wilson and Kelly (Wilson) Kennedy, and her husband Daniel Kennedy and their children Connor Kennedy and Daniel Kennedy, Jr. Her son Lt. Col. Craig R. Schwartz, USA (Ret.), and his wife Amber (Hughes) Schwartz and their children PFC Alexander Schwartz, USAR, Sarah Schwartz and Eric Schwartz. She is also survived by her sister Bonnie L. (Behnke) Wojcik and her husband Paul Wojcik and their children Amy (Wojcik) Greuel and her husband Jason and their children Connor and Carson and their son Matthew and his children Josephine and Adeline. A private celebration of her life will be held in Fond du Lac by the family.
