Marion Fuller

Marion (Krug-Scharfenberg) Fuller, 83, of 22 Riverside Court, Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully from this life on Friday, March 25, 2011. She was born on November 3, 1927, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Robert and Bernice Miller Krug. She grew up on Bechaud Beach, attended Luco School, and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1946.On May 15, 1954, she married Elmer “Zeke” Scharfenberg at Our Savior Lutheran Church and had 25 happy years together. They had one son, Scott E. Scharfenberg. Zeke preceded her in death on May 29, 1979.Marion married John J. Fuller at Presentation Church, North Fond du Lac on April 16, 1996. They enjoyed their retirement years traveling and spending time with their families. She worked as a receptionist, sales clerk, and caring for the elderly in their homes. She enjoyed caring for her rose bushes, cooking, nature, the Packers, and most of all, caring for her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Puffy. Marion will be remembered for her kind, giving, and caring nature of all living things, and of course, for her talent of creating a warm and welcoming home, especially on Christmas. Survivors include her husband, John; a son, Scott E. (Esther) Scharfenberg of Fond du Lac; a sister, Kathleen Krug of Ellijay, Georgia; six nieces, one nephew; two stepdaughters: Sharon A. (Dennis) Lange of Fond du Lac, and Sandra L. (Dan) Bach of Germantown; eight step-grandchildren: Erin (Jason) Bastien, Todd Nutter, Chad and Cari Lange, all of Fond du Lac, Kimberly, Andrew, and twins, Kathryn and Megan Bach of Germantown.She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Elmer “Zeke” Scharfenberg; a brother, Melvin “Bud” R. (Marge) Krug; two sisters: Betty J. (Jack) Stranckmeyer, and Donna M. (James) Dunn; and two brothers-in-law: Field (Florence) Rahn, and Roland (Margaret) Freund. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Lester Fritz officiating. A private family burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope.Marion’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to friends and neighbors that provided support. A special thank you to Stacy, Kristy, Judy, JoAnn, Nancy, Char, Debbie, Larry, and Andy from Hospice Hope for the compassion and care they provided Marion. She will be dearly missed.
