Mary "Beth" E. Peters

Mary E. (Beth) Knueppel Peters, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at St. Francis Home. She was born April 1, 1943, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Charles W. and Kathleen A. Peebles Knueppel. On October 23, 1965, she married Joseph (Joe) Peters at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Joe preceded her in death on October 10, 2015, just 13 short days before they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Beth worked for Mid-States Aluminum for more than 30 years before retiring. Beth later went on to work for the FDL School District in the cafeteria and then later as a volunteer “grandma” helper in the classroom. Beth enjoyed her many trips to casino, spending time with her family, and playing cards. Beth always looked forward to the many Knueppel Girls Night Out Adventures. Survivors include two daughters: Jodi (Dave) Penkwitz of Fredonia, Julie (Tim) Kobs of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren: Mercedes (Chris) Miles, Matthew Kobs, Adam Kobs (Fiancé’ Bianca); and two step grandchildren: Zachary and Mikayla (Mason) Mayer, great granddaughter Dalylah. She is further survived by special friend Ron Bauman; three brothers: David (Betty) Knueppel, Chuck (Sharon) Knueppel, and Kevin (Carolyn) Knueppel, all of Fond du Lac; four sisters: Ann (Mark) Miller of Kimberly, Sue (Ken) Narlock of Hartford, Jane (Dean) Wendt of Fond du Lac and Karen (Don) Bowen, of Cudahy. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Karen (Michael) Osier, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Tom, Joe, Dick and Bill; her mother and father-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dave, Dennis and Jerome, and sister-in-law Lois. We are sure her dear friends: Ginny, Cheryl & Judy will be waiting at the pearly gate for her with open arms. The family would like to thank Maple Meadows of FDL, Preceptor Hospice, SSM Hospice and the St Francis Home for their wonderful care of our mom. VISITATION: Family will greet friends and relatives from 3:00 – 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory.
