Michael “Chunk” L. Haney, 36, of W8651 County Road T, Lamartine, died on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, while doing what he loved, farming.He was born on May 6, 1970, in Waupun, a son of Edward and Marjean Pinno Haney.Mike graduated from Laconia High School in 1988. He then went to work for Michels Pipeline for eight years before starting M&M’s Countryside Excavating with his mother. It was said many times that no one could dig a better pond. Mike and his mother also owned M&M’s Countryside Inn at Woodhull from 1991-1997. Mike was always the first to crack a joke and was loved by everyone he met.His Texas Longhorns were his pets and one of his greatest joys. Mike enjoyed farming, hunting, helping all the neighbors, and making people laugh. Last year, he received the “Friends of the Firemen” award from the Lamartine Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his mother, Marjean Haney, of Lamartine; his father, Edward (Helen) Haney, of Fond du Lac; two brothers: Wes (Amy) Haney, of Baldwin, Harold Haney, of Brandon; three nephews: Colton, Austin, Dylan, and one on the way; his girlfriend, Gerry Bohl, of Lamartine; three step-sisters and a step-brother: Juanita (Jody) Pinno, of Milwaukee, Jeanette (Mark) Hoffman, of Fond du Lac, Jennifer (Rick) Mielke, of Rosendale, and Timothy (Sara) Pinno, of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Louise Pinno; and his paternal grandparents, Charles Haney and Lorraine (James) Haney-Newlun.The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, N5680 Towne Road, Rogersville, with Rev. Charles Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Rogersville Cemetery. The visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006, at Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, and on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.Mike will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.Mach Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
