Richard "Dick" A. Williams

Richard A. (Dick) Williams, 85, of Van Dyne, went to heaven on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Woodlands Senior Park in Fond du Lac, surrounded by his family. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI, on September 21, 1938, the son of Walter and Hulda Kollmann Williams. He graduated from Rosendale High School, Class of 1957. In June 1958, he entered the army and proudly served his country in Germany. On September 29, 1962, he married the love of his life, Joann M. (Kintopp) Williams, at St. Paul’s Church on Ridge Road in Eldorado. Richard was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac. He spent much of his career working for Wells Manufacturing and Mercury Marine, where he retired. He was devoted to his family and wife. With his wife, he loved dancing, taking long drives in the countryside, going for ice cream, and spending time outdoors caring for their garden, flowers, and numerous bird feeders. He created magical moments for his grandchildren, from sleighbells announcing the arrival of Santa at Christmas to making sure the candy dish was never empty. Among the many things his family will remember, he could fix anything, he loved telling stories about the people and places where he grew up, and he was adamant about eating dessert first. His role in the family was immeasurable. Everything he taught will be carried forward, and the wisdom and caring he shared will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving children, Shelly (Doug) Haugen of Eldorado, Clark (Christa) Williams of Van Dyne, and Lisa (Chuck) Stollfus of Pickett; his grandchildren: Heather (Jon) Vande Hei, Alex (Cassie) Arneson, Ryan (Claire) Stollfus, Christopher (Hannah) Stollfus, Joshua (Moriah) Stollfus, Courtney (Lucas) Muche and Cassidy (Tanner) Williams; six great-grandchildren: Rowan, Ada, Wesson, Clayton, Riley, and Jacob; his sisters Beatrice Gudex of Campbellsport and Jeanette (Richter) Zacharias of Markesan; sister-in-law Rosalie Roeder of Fond du Lac, his step-sisters-in-law: Jane Pruetz of Menominee Falls, Eileen Sales of Musketeen, IA, and Gloria Schumacher of Rosendale, his step-brother-in-law Eugene Schumacher of Van Dyne, and numerous nieces and nephews. Greeting him in heaven is his beloved wife of 60 years, Joann M. Williams who passed in 2023; his first-born son, Troy; his father, Walter, and mother, Hulda; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Arthur and Mabel Schumacher; his brother-in-law: Samuel Gudex and Sherman Roeder; stepbrother-in-laws Gerald Schumacher, Kenneth Pruetz, and Gary Sales; and stepsisters-in-law Carol Schumacher and Bernice Schumacher. Thank you to the Woodlands Senior Park for their care and friendship over the past eight months, to Dr. Dar and his team at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center Aurora, Oshkosh, the SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital and Hospice staff during his final days. VISITATION: The family will greet family and friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue, North Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael Kampman and Rev. Elijah Ehlert officiating. Christian burial to follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
