Robert F. Ellis

Robert F. Ellis, 92, of Fond du Lac, died on Friday, October 7, 2022, at his residence. He was born on May 30, 1930, in Sugar Camp, WI, the son of Harley and Audrey Bender Ellis. On December 8, 1951, he married Violet Pomplun, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Richford, WI. She preceded him in death on August 23, 1995. Bob worked at various farms in Plainfield, and would help anyone at any time. He worked at Rueping Leather in Fond du Lac and Arrowhead Conveyor in Oshkosh. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Robert loved woodworking, finding ways to repurpose things, invented a motorless sump pump, and road traveling. Most of all, he loved touring in his ’64 Galaxie 500 with Vi. He is survived by his children: Christine (Willard “Bill”) Huizenga of Fond du Lac, Vicki Zoch of Fond du Lac and Robert L. Ellis of Lamertine; his grandchildren and step grandchildren: Christopher (Summer) Hoffman, Jessica (Adam) Kopischke, Travis (Alicia) Huizenga, Anthony (Heidi) Trelevan, Lukas (Andrea) Zoch, Courtnay Zoch, Staci Zoch, Shawna Jones, his great grandchildren and step great grandchildren: Cheyenne (Eric) Post, Logan Hoffman and Revan Hoffman, Lilly, Rion, Kenna, Andrew, Karalyn and Asher, and his step great-great grandchildren: Oliver and Amelia. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law: Russell Marshall of Plainfield and Eldon “Butch” (Patsy) Pomplun of Oshkosh; his sisters-in-law: Eunice Pomplum of Dalton and Carolyn Pomplun of Omro and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, seven sisters, his son-in-law Daniel Zoch and his step-great grandson Dominic Trelevan. VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:30 PM, on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Memorial services will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Hope Lutheran Church, with Rev. Phillip Enderle officiating. Inurnment will take place at Estabrooks Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Hope Lutheran Church.
