Ruth A. Seemann

Ruth A. Seemann, 80, formerly of 389 Third Street, Fond du Lac, and most recently a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, entered eternal bliss on Wednesday, April 4, 2007.She was born on August 11, 1926, in Kensington, Kansas, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Rahjes Seemann.Ruth graduated from Smith Center High School in Kansas and then moved to Fond du Lac.She was a fine and faithful employee of Schreiner’s Restaurant for 43 years. Many people may remember her efficiency and friendly quips. After retiring in 1993, she enjoyed travel, golf, bowling, cards, and socializing with many friends. In recent years, a series of unfortunate falls and other health complications robbed her of her independence and she ceased most of her activities.She was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac, and she demonstrated an unquestionable love for her Savior.She is survived by five sisters: Doris Strege of Fond du Lac, Marie Wangerin of Kensington, KS, Alma Johanen of West Bend, Cecilia (Ray) Grauerholz of Phillipsburg, KS, and Priscilla Porter of Hastings, NE; two brothers: Paul (Kay) Seemann of Smith Center, KS, and Thomas Seemann of Blue Hill, NE; a sister-in-law: JoAnn Seemann of Kensington, KS; a niece, Johanna (Paul) Manke of Brownsville; dear friends, Thomas and Cheryl Langenhorst of Fond du Lac; many other nieces and nephews and their children. She will also be fondly remembered by many other friends and acquaintances.She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Wilma (Leland) Wangerin and Julie (Robert) Landvatter; three brothers: John, Rudolph, and an infant, Paul Seemann; four brothers-in-law: Theodore Strege, Harlan Wangerin, Matthew Johanen, and Benjamin Porter.The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2007, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Arthur Callies officiating. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park. The visitation will be on Monday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Fond du Lac Lutheran Home or Hope Lutheran Church.Special thanks to the staff at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the wonderful care given to Ruth.
