Sue Ann Phillips

Sue Ann Phillips, 64, of Fond du Lac, died on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born on September 20, 1957, in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of Albert B. and Shirley Ann Anderson Phillips. She was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School, Class of 1976. She is survived by the love of her life and best friend of 42 years, Bernie Vanness, who made her independent living possible. Together they shared many trips to the dog park and enjoyed watching the dog's play. Susie also loved her parakeets, Sunny and Sunshine and enjoyed hearing them sing. Susie had a big heart and never forgot to send a birthday card along with a phone call which included a song to those she loved. Susie loved to connect with people by calling them on the phone and always welcomed company with a smile and an offer of a root beer barrel or peppermint candy along with a soda. She is further survived by her sister Debra (Martin) Schaefer and half-sister Diane Phillips, niece Jennifer (Makies) Gavrielatos, nephews: Erik (Hannah) Schaefer and Ryan (Carlee) Phillips; and great nieces and nephews: Lila, Higen, Eva and Henry Schaefer, Kosta Gavrielatos, Cooper and Archie Phillips, and her good friend and support system JoAnn Talaska and Aunt Barb. She is preceded in death by parents Albert and Shirley Phillips, grandparents Soren and Genevieve Anderson, brother Robert Phillips, half-sisters: Audrey Reynolds, Beverly Abitz and half-brother Michael Phillips. Susie will be missed by many and she leaves us with many memories. VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 9:30 - 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac. The family is requesting that those who attend wear masks. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, with Chaplain Karen Kraus officiating. Burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery. Thank you to the staff at The Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, Hospice, St. Agnes Hospital, Lakeland Care, Community Alternatives and Fond du Lac Mental Health Center for making Susie’s life easier, safer and healthier.
