Dorothy Mae Schmidt

Mrs. Dorothy Mae (Ormsby) Schmidt died on March 15, 2019, in Clermont FL at age 96. She was born on December 8, 1922, in Fond du Lac, WI to Harry B Ormsby and Florence (Clara Florence) Geldnich Ormsby. One of her first jobs was working for Rueping Leather Co. where she met her future husband Robert C Schmidt. After Robert returned from serving in the Army in WWII they rekindled their romance. They were married at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac, WI on November 12, 1949. They lived in many cities during their marriage and retired in Florida. Clermont was their final home. Dorothy’s favorite hobbies were cooking and going on road trips with her husband. Dorothy is survived by Robert her husband of 69 years, her five children, Jacquelyn (James) Schmitt of Cottage Grove, Wi, John (Pam) Schmidt of Oakland, FL, Carol (Jack) Liebzeit of Clintonville, WI, Brian (Patricia) Schmidt of Groveland, FL and Christine (Steve) Weber of Appleton, WI. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Verane LaVallee and Virginia Rosing. Her grave site service was held at Rienzi Cemetery in Fond du Lac WI. We thank Kurki Funeral and Chapel for their service.
