Florence "Flo" R. Schuppe
August 23, 1924 - January 30, 2021
Florence “Flo” R. Schuppe, (nee Wendel), entered eternal life, from natural causes, on January 30, 2021, after 96 years in this world. Florence had most recently been a resident of Sage Meadow Assisted living for the past 5 years. Prior to that she lived on West Ruggles Street with her husband Ray, for over 30 years. She was born August 23, 1924, the oldest child of Claude and Frances Wendel in Fond du Lac and was a graduate of Goodrich High School. She worked for the Rueping Leather Co. upon graduation during the war years. She was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. In Florence's life she enjoyed and always maintained a garden with her very green thumb. The garden bounty was then canned or went into the freezer. Flowers were a favorite and there were always beds and pots of geraniums outside every summer her entire life. She was a bowler for much of her adult life, a game she always enjoyed until her later years, when she took up golfing. The balls were lighter. She was hooked on golf once she played. Florence also spent many hours at the sewing machine sewing new clothing and doing alterations. She was married to E. Ray Schuppe, who preceded her in death in 1991.She has also been predeceased by her brother, Don Wendel and children Carol Sohn (Schuppe) and Mary Ann Canfield (Rausch). Surviving siblings are brother, Jerry Wendel and sister, Delores Rozek. Surviving children are Suzanne Rausch, Dave Schuppe (Sue) and Susan Fadness (Jerry), plus grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends. A special thanks to Michelle and Mark Linser for their generous help with her yard and home in her later years. Much gratitude to Flo's angels on earth, the team from St. Croix Hospice who took such good care of Florence and a deep appreciation to all the staff at Sage Meadows especially the hard-working CNAs for their patience, kindness and considerate care of my mother. Becky thank you for feeding my mom at Sage Meadow, she always liked your cooking. Thank you to all the other residents at Sage Meadow who knew my mom and made her last years on this earth pleasant ones. Due to the Covid pandemic, at this time there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. In remembrance of Florence, a donation in her name to a charity of your choice is appreciated. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Ledgeview Memorial Park. Online guestbook may be found by visiting Kurki Funeral Chapel and Crematory www.kurkifuneralchapel.com who have handled all the arrangements.
