Kathleen M. Henke

January 8, 1945 - March 9, 2021

Kathleen "Kathy/Grandma" M. Henke, 76, of Van Dyne, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on January 8, 1945, in Fond du Lac, the first of eight children of Robert and Clara Wegner Schwertfeger. She was a graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Class of 1962. On May 9, 1964, she married David N. Henke, at St. Paul’s on Ridge Road. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2020. Kathleen worked for A.C. Nielsen for a number of years and worked at McDonald’s, Burger King, Culvers and Edith’s Clothing. She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church and the Gleaners and WLA Ladies Auxiliary. Kathleen was a 4H Leader, liked flowers, proud of her family and enjoyed being in parades with the horses, sewing and was an amazing seamstress. She is survived by her children: Tim (Linda) Henke of Van Dyne, Brian (Ann) Henke of Fond du Lac and Crystal (Scott) Krenke of Oshkosh, her grandchildren: Michael (Liz Nitz) Henke, William (Jess) Mann, Noah Henke, Seth Henke, Zack (Charlotte Rosenthal) Henke, Victor Wood, Brianna Henke, Maggie Wood, Makayla Henke, Ceryck Krenke, and Chassedy Krenke, her great-grandchildren: Aiden and Sawyer Mann; her siblings: Jean Jacobs of Fond du Lac, Susie Kollmann of Fond du Lac, Stanley (Linda) Schwertfeger of Van Dyne, Edith Wandel of Van Dyne, Tom (Betty) Schwertfeger of Oshkosh, Paul (Diane) Schwertfeger of Redgranite and Julie (Brad) Trewin of Van Dyne; her in-laws: Carol (James) Hounsell of Sauk City, Kay (Charles) Ebert of Fond du Lac, and David (Nancy) Cronce of Oshkosh; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Henke, her parents, an infant brother, her father and mother-in-law, Norman and Jane E. Henke, sister-in-law Shirley Cronce, brothers-in-law: Ronald Jacobs and Mark Creek; and her nephew Jeremy Strook. VISITATION: Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1600 S. Main St., Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael J. Zuberbier officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
