Kathleen Wesley

June 21, 1934 - March 13, 2019

Mrs. Kathleen Wesley (nee Mulkern), age 84 years of Fond du Lac was called home to be with the Lord and reunited with the love of her life on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. Kathleen was a Godly woman, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Kathleen was born on June 21, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Helena Mulkern (nee Murphy). Kathleen was married to Anthony Petz in 1952. While they were married, they had three daughters, Christine Petz, Kathleen Muller (Petz) and Rita Riesterer (Petz). In 1984, Kathleen united in marriage with Anthony S. Wesley (Tony) who was a member of the Chicago Police Department for many years. After Tony retired, they moved to Port Richey, Florida. Years later, they then bought a villa in Seven Springs located in New Port Richey where Kathleen lived until 2015 when she relocated to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to be closer to her family. Kathleen enjoyed the warmth of Florida, she was in Florida for at least 30 years prior to moving back to the cold. She never thought that she would have to deal with the cold ever again. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and absolutely loved her Wednesday shopping trips. She had many favorite stores. She loved playing Rummikub. Even in her final months, she could be found playing Rummikub with her daughter, grandchildren and friends. She loved to beat her grandson, Norman, that was her goal! She learned Farkle (a dice game) over the last few months of her time here on Earth and would call her grandson a High Roller! She loved going to church and making friends. She kept in touch with her friends from Florida even after she moved away. Those Kathleen leaves behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rita Riesterer (Petz) of Fond du Lac; her grandchildren Norman & Tiffany Muller of Mayville; her brother John (Kaye) Kirschner of Indianola, IL; 2 nephews, Brian (Pinky) Kirschner of Round Lake, IL and Christopher (Jenny) of Homer, IL; her niece, Mary Lou (Lee) McCullough of Johnson City, TN and many special relatives and friends and last but certainly not least her loving dog, Tucker. In addition to her parents and step-parents, Kathleen was also proceeded in death by the love of her life, Anthony S. Wesley; her two daughters, Christine Petz and Kathleen (Kathy) Muller; and 4 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian memorial for Kathleen will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Holy Family Parish located in Fond du Lac (271 Fourth St Way, Fond du Lac, WI 54937) with Father Ryan Pruess officiating. Kathleen’s remains will be buried at a later date next to her loving husband, Tony Wesley at Trinity Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, Florida. Kathleen’s family will greet relatives and friends at church on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service. Kathleen’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Francis Home and St. Agnes Hospital for the loving care they provided.
