Marian L. Seibel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marian Lorraine Batterman Seibel, 88, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at St. Francis Home. Marian was born April 20, 1934, the daughter of Herman and Wilhelmina “Minnie” Kiester Batterman. She was baptized May 13, 1934, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church by Revs. G.E. Bergemann and Gerhard Pieper in Fond du Lac. Her sponsors were Wm March, Mary Batterman and Lorene Geiger. Marian attended Grand View Grade School of Fond du Lac from 1940 – 1946, then transferred to St. Peter’s Lutheran School for 7th and 8th grade. She was confirmed on March 29, 1948. She attended Winnebago Lutheran Academy from 1948 - 1952 and graduated in June 1952. Marian married Donald Clayton Seibel on August 21, 1954 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Donald passed away on February 10, 2022. Marian cared for her family and also worked at First Wisconsin Bank and the Action Advertiser. Marian was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church where she was actively involved in school hot lunches, cheer committee and numerous other activities. She enjoyed gardening, riding her bike, camping, making jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was famously known for her “concealed hand” in Canasta. Marian is survived by her three children: Sharon (Rev. Stephen) Kurtzahn, Sharleen Hahn, and Daniel (Kelley) Seibel; her grandchildren: Rebekah (Rev. Adam) Seelow, Matthew (Sarah) Kurtzahn, Leah (Travis) Olson, Steven (Kara) Hahn, Michael (Jill) Hahn, Abigail (Jonathan) Svigos, Megan (Clayton Kruger) Seibel, Kelsey Seibel, Cole Falkner and Reed Falkner; her great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Henry and Greta Seelow, Samuel and Joanna Kurtzahn, Titus and Lydia Olson, Ella, Owen, Sylvia and Porter Hahn, and Anna and Claire Hahn; her sister, Bernice Rademann of Fond du Lac; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Seibel, her sister Elaine Tagliapietra, her infant brother LeRoy Batterman, and her brothers-in-law Donald Tagliapietra and Keith Rademann. VISITATION: The family will greet friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Luther Memorial Church, with Rev. Rob Sauers officiating. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
