Richard A. Gruenwald

September 27, 1953 - April 29, 2022

Richard A. Gruenwald, 68, of Fond du Lac, died on Friday, April 29, 2022, at his residence. He was born on September 27, 1953, in Fond du Lac, the son of Donald and Gloria Cracker Gruenwald. He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Class of 1971. On March 3, 1973, he married Deborah J. Schultz, at Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Rick was a professional long distance truck driver. He drove over 1 million miles without an accident. At the age of 38, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which was a long hard battle until his death. Rick had a unique sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him. He loved his family, listening to music, sitting outside on nice summer days and ME TV. May the LORD bless you and keep you: May the face of the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you: May the LORD turn his face towards you and give you Peace. Numbers 6:24-26. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Gruenwald, his daughters: Tess (Mark) Clinton, Ginger (Scott) Diedrich and Heather (Nick) Bloch, his special niece April (Rob) Giese; seven grandchildren: Zachary Clinton, Hayden, Molly and Sadie Diedrich, Mason and Mara Gesell and Brynn Bloch, his dog Charlie, his favorite sister-in-law Patty Rady, other family and friends, and his six granddogs. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom. A private family celebration of life will be taking place. The family would like to thank SSM Hospice for their kindness and compassion for helping ease Rick through his next journey.
