Richard W Huffman

February 16, 1947 - March 10, 2022

Richard W. Huffman, 75, of Winneconne, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Ascension Mercy Hospital. Richard a man of strong faith, now joins his beloved family in the kingdom of Heaven leaving behind the pain and suffering of his earthly ills. He was born on February 16, 1947, in Sparta, the son of the late Willis (Bill) and June (Kretzchmar) Huffman. Richard spent his early years in Tomah before his family moved to Fond du lac. He graduated from Fond du Lac High School and four years later from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. He enjoyed employment in Oshkosh for many years until health challenges prevented him from continuing. Richard loved and enjoyed his family, friends and care providers. As a young man he was able to spend wonderful times traveling, hunting, fishing, collecting rocks and writing. He was blessed with care providers who enhanced his life, including but not limited to Robyn and the fantastic staff at Care Partners in Winneconne and his longtime trusted doctor, Dr. David Zerrien. Survivors include valued friends Jim Crane and Jim McKeever; in addition to several cousins spread throughout the country; other relatives and friends In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Huffman. VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac with Rev. Tom Meyer officiating. Burial to follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. In lieu of flowers, an act of kindness for another would be a wonderful tribute to Richard.
