Virginia "Ginny" M. Vande Guchte

Ginny Vande Guchte, age 86, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord on December 9, 2020. Virginia Mae Vanderbilt was born on June 14, 1934, in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, to William and Mabel (Knuth) Vanderbilt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Reverend Howard Vande Guchte; her son James Vande Guchte; her great granddaughter Hannah Vande Guchte; her brother William Vanderbilt; as well as 9 brothers- and sisters-in-law. She will be greatly missed by her son Jack and Erin (Juan and Olivia), son John and Trina (Sydney, Dane, Scott and Zoe), daughter-in-law Lori (Nathan and Kristen [Ty, Addi and Bennett], Matthew [Hailey and Travis], Kara and Andrew Winton [Zoey and Alexander], and Kelsi and Will Schueneman); her sister Mary (Roy) Ackermann; and sisters-in law Judy Knosher and Susan Vanderbilt, and many friends and extended family members. Virginia was a graduate of Oostburg High School and Wheaton College of Nursing. In 1955 she married Howie, with whom she partnered in a lifelong ministry of the Gospel of Christ. She spent time as church secretary, organist, and pianist. She will always be remembered for her competitive spirit in games and her avid following of the sport activities of her husband, sons and grandchildren. Ginny also had a great love of flowers, decorating, and graciously hosting dinners for family and friends. Her family thanks the staff at The Meadows of Fond du Lac where she enjoyed the last three years of her life. The family wishes to plant a commemorative tree in Ginny & Howie’s honor at The Meadows, in lieu of flowers. Due to the current pandemic, a private funeral service for Ginny will be held with her immediate family members at Grace Ev. Free Church.
