Walter R. Otterstatter

Walter R. Otterstatter, 92, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, March 21, 2022 at his residence. He was born on February 3, 1930, in Merrill, WI, the son of Edward J. and Rhoda Kautsch Otterstatter. He was a graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN, Class of 1951. On July 31, 1955, he was joined in Christian marriage to Louise Pape. He taught at Lutheran grade schools in Reedsville, WI, from 1951 – 1953, and Manitowoc, WI from 1954-1963. Walter was a professor at Winnebago Lutheran Academy from 1963 until his retirement in 1993. He was a very active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac, WI. He loved gardening, carving and woodworking. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed travelling during the summer and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise, his son Mark (Mary) Otterstatter of Fond du Lac, WI, two grandsons: Mavric Otterstatter of Phoenix, AZ, and Maustin (Nicole) Otterstatter of Kansas City, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and his sister. Memorials in Walter’s name appreciated to Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac, WI. VISITATION: The family will greet friends from 11:30 – 12:45 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue, North Fond du Lac, WI. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac, with Rev. Michael Kampman and Rev. Elijah Ehlert officiating.
