Charles "Chuck" White O'Neil

Charles “Chuck” White O’Neil, 84, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, July 9, 2010, at Kindred Hearts of Fond du Lac.He was born on September 30, 1925, in the Town of Springvale, a son of the late Dale H. and Ruby L. White O’Neil.He graduated from Rosendale Union Free High School.Chuck married Mildred “Milly” I. Pucker on April 16, 1947, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Rogersville.He worked as a dairy farmer, milk hauler, cheese factory employee, and as a sanitation engineer for the City of Fond du Lac.Chuck was the last surviving founding member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church Brotherhood of Rogersville, and he was also a member of Mercury Marine Retirees Club.Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, working on jigsaw and word puzzles, and watching sports (especially baseball and football). However, his greatest interest was his relationship he shared with his great-grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Milly O’Neil; four children: Diane O’Neil of Manitowoc, Peggy (David) Beuthin of Ripon, Dale (Jackie) O’Neil of Fond du Lac, and Faye Gokey of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren: Lisa Beuthin, Jonathan (Kay) Beuthin, Amy (Christopher) Shepro, Scott (Angela) Dowidat, Nathan Butz, and Christine (Scott) Compton; seven great-grandchildren: Zachary Shepro, Samuel Shepro, Dorian Beuthin, Johnathan Dowidat, Kailey McAdams, Natasha Compton, and Kayla Compton; a sister-in-law: Lucille O’Neil of Berlin; and his wife’s sister, Mavis Liedke of Crivitz. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Gokey; a brother, Arlyn O’Neil; three sisters, Doris O’Neil, Mary (Frank) Kluza, and Carol (Eldon) Potratz; his wife’s brother, Gordon (Alice) Pucker; and his wife’s brother-in-law, John Liedke. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, N5680 Towne Road, Rogersville, with Rev. Kimberly Stowell officiating. Burial will follow in Rogersville Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and Agnesian Healthcare Hospice Hope.
