Dennis G. Albrecht

Dennis G. Albrecht, 59, of Van Dyne, passed away unexpectedly of heart failure on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. He was the first baby born at Ripon Hospital on January 1, 1952, to Marvin G. and Mae C. Miller Albrecht.He graduated in 1970 from Horace Mann High School, North Fond du Lac.On October 3, 1970, he married Nancy Harshbarger at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Van Dyne.Dennis served with the United States Air Force from 1970-1974, serving one year in Thailand. After his military service, he farmed with his father, Marvin, in Van Dyne for 25 years. He attended Moraine Park Technical College and obtained a certificate in diesel mechanics in 2000. He continued farming the land while being employed with the Town of Friendship for the last 11 years as the township’s road and maintenance man.He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Van Dyne.Dennis enjoyed spending time with his wife, Nancy, his three children and their spouses, and six grandchildren, with another one on the way. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends. He recently built a pole shed and was looking forward to spending time out in his shop. He was a loving husband, father, and the best grandpa to his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Nancy; and their three children: Chris (Michelle and baby boy) Albrecht of Cambridge, Mandy (Scott) Schuld of Ripon, and their two children: Ethan and Madelynn; and Shelly (Chad) Muche of Van Dyne, and their four children: Roman, Lillian, Gabriella, and Evelyn; two brothers: Gary Albrecht (special friend Kim) of Fond du Lac, and Brian (Ann) Albrecht of Oshkosh; three brothers-in-law: Larry (Roxy) Harshbarger of Green Valley, Arizona, Pat (Linda) Harshbarger of Fond du Lac, and Robert (Ann) Harshbarger of Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law: Carol Bricco (special friend Bob) of Oshkosh, and Kathryn (Jeff) Scharf of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Dorothy Harshbarger; aunts, uncles, and cousins.The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, W6852 Main Street, Van Dyne, with Rev. Lester Fritz officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.The visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, and on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
