Evelyn R. Doylen

Evelyn Ruth Doylen, age 86, passed away on May 19, 2024 and joined her husband, Richard, in Heaven. She was born on December 30, 1937, the second child of Edwin and Louise (Schubert) Keyes. She was baptized at home on January 16, 1938, and confirmed on March 18, 1951 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in 1955. She married Richard L. Doylen at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on 27 June 1959. They were charter members (with her parents and brother) of Luther Memorial Church in 1960. She was actively involved in the church and sang in the choir. She had a fulfilling career as a secretary for many years, beginning with Blunt Ellis & Loewi in the early 1980s and retiring from Wachovia in 2007. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, taking trips with her husband, staying busy, and being with her family. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a role model to her children and grandchildren. She was the primary caregiver for many people, including her parents-in-law and brother, and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by and will be dearly remembered by her children: James Doylen, Michael (Doug McDonald) Doylen, and Patricia (Jack) Mohr. She is also survived by three grandchildren—Jered Doylen, Ryan (Savannah) Doylen, and Kaitlyn Mohr; and four great grandchildren: Lilyanna, Elliot, Raelynn, Theodore. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard; her parents, Edwin and Louise; and her siblings, Jeannette and Ronald. VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Luther Memorial Church, with Rev. Andrew Schaller officiating. Burial to follow at Estabrooks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Luther Memorial Church. The family sends deep appreciations to Pastor Andrew Schaller, who visited Evelyn regularly in her home to provide Holy Communion and fellowship, the compassionate staff at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation, as well as the staff of SSM Hospice at Home, who cared for Evelyn during the last weeks of her life. We miss you, mom! You brought a lot of light into this world and did much for many people.
