James R. Soll

James R. “Jim” Soll, age 66, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at home with family by his side. He was born on February 2, 1959, the son of late Neal and Betty (Klein) Soll. On May 7, 1983, he married Karen Zasada at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Jim was a 1977 graduate of Goodrich High School. He was the warehouse supervisor for Valley Warehousing (Geodis) for 37 years. After retirement, he worked at Holiday Auto in Fond du Lac. Jim was a member of Holy Family Parish in Fond du Lac. He enjoyed coaching and watching his son Andy in hockey, football and baseball. Jim played in various bowling, pool and softball leagues and enjoyed attending concerts. He enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends. He especially looked forward to his yearly fishing trip. One of his greatest joys in life was his grandchildren, Liam, Maddie and Henry. He lit up when he was able to watch them in all of their activities. Jim is survived by his wife, Karen; his son, Andrew (Megan) Soll of Fond du Lac; his three grandchildren, Liam, Maddie and Henry; his brother, Mike (Paula) Soll of Oshkosh; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Mark) Erbstoesser of Kiel, Cheryl Herr and Renee Zasada both of Fond du Lac; an uncle, Bob Darnick of North Fond du Lac; an aunt, Marge Klein of Fond du Lac, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, George and Mabel Zasada; two brothers-in-law, George Zasada and Ken Herr; an aunt, Caryl Darnick and an uncle, Don Klein. Special thanks to SSM Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Jim and his family. VISITATION: Jim’s family will greet relatives and friends at Kurki Funeral Chapel, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at Holy Family Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac. Cremation will follow the traditional service. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery.
