Joann M. Williams

Joann M. Williams, 79, of Van Dyne, went to heaven on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, surrounded by her family. She was born in Beaver Dam, WI, on March 19, 1944, the daughter of Albert and Mabel Mertz Kintopp. She was a graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Class of 1962. On September 29, 1962, she married the love of her life, Richard A. Williams, at St. Paul’s Church on Ridge Road in Eldorado. Joann was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac. Flowers, birds, music, sitting in the sunshine, sweet treats, the companionship of her dog, Joy, and dancing with her husband day or night made her heart happy. Among the many things her family will remember, she had a gift for picking out the perfect card and wanting to have things “just so.” Joann had an unconditional love for her family. To love her and be loved by her will live on through her special relationship with each of her grandchildren. Joann’s bravery and strength during her lifetime are to be admired. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 60 years, Richard “Dick” Williams of Van Dyne, her children: Shelly (Doug) Haugen of Eldorado, Clark (Christa) Williams of Van Dyne and Lisa (Chuck) Stollfus of Pickett; her grandchildren: Heather (Jon) Vande Hei, Alex (Cassie) Arneson, Ryan (Claire) Stollfus, Christopher (Hannah) Stollfus, Joshua (Moriah) Stollfus, Courtney (Lucas) Muche and Cassidy (Tanner) Williams; five great-grandchildren: Rowan, Ada, Wesson, Riley, and Jacob; her sister Rosalie Roeder of Fond du Lac, her step-sisters: Jane Pruetz of Menominee Falls and Eileen Sales of Musketeen, IA, her step-sister-in-law Gloria Schumacher of Rosendale, her step-brother Eugene Schumacher of Van Dyne, and numerous nieces and nephews. Greeting her in heaven are her first-born son, Troy; her father Albert, her mother, Mabel, and step-father, Arthur Schumacher; her brother-in-law Sherman Roeder, step-brother Gerald Schumacher; step sisters-in-laws Carol Schumacher and Bernice Schumacher, and step brothers-in-law Kenneth Pruetz and Gary Sales. VISITATION: The family will greet family and friends from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue, North Fond du Lac. SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael Kampman and Rev. Elijah Ehlert officiating. Christian burial to follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church - North Fond du Lac.
