John "Jack" P. Ward

John “Jack” P. Ward, 83, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Harbor Haven in Fond du Lac. He was born on March 9, 1942, in Fond du Lac, the son of Charles J. and Florence K. Checki Ward. He attended L.P. Goodrich High School. On October 15, 1966, he married Cheryl A. Moss, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2024. Jack worked at Midland Co-op for over ten years, Combine Building, Dean’s Dodge which later became Holiday Dodge. Jack was proud of his 40 years of sobriety and was at the Blandine House where he met his good friend Brian Adrian. He enjoyed playing cards and Sheepshead was his favorite, and he enjoyed shooting pool. He is survived by his children: Lawrence “Larry” (Michelle) Ward and Kari Lynn Tucker both of Fond du Lac; his grandchildren: Lance Ward, Marissa (special friend Deric) Ward, Christopher Ward, Shane (fiancé Katrina) Tucker, and Seth (Jazmine) Tucker; step grandchildren: Carrie Baxter and Jeff Tucker; eight great-grandchildren: Ethan, Trenton, Lacey, Renee, Sophia, Jonathan, Levi and Olivia; his brother Jerome (Barbara) Ward of Fond du Lac, friend Beth Peters, many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and a special granddaughter Nicole (Dan) Dassow, and very good friend who meant a lot to him Sue Luckey. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and sister Joan (Adrian) Betley. VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICES: Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac. Entombment to follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park. A special thank you to all the staff at Harbor Haven for their special care for Dad. An extra special thank you to his favorite nurses Sharon and Chris and his favorite CNA’s Sarah, Fawn, his “girlfriends” Delaney and Reese, and lastly Theresa who he affectionately called “Red”, and his birdfeeder filler Sue. Thank you to his resident family who gave him a lot of laughs and fun over the past year, Ross, Janell, Nancy, Rose, John, Patrick, Gerald, Randy, Norma, Sharon, Georgia, Jolene, Jenna, Candy and Judith. Lastly to his patio buddies who have passed before him Richard and Leonard.
