Lawrence "Larry" Stubbs

On Saturday, April 11th 2026, Lawrence Guy Stubbs at the age of 92 of Mount Calvary, Wisconsin returned to his Heavenly Home to be with his Savior. He was surrounded by the love and support of his family. Larry was born on March 12th 1934, in Fond du lac to his parents Edson and Jessie (Scherer) Stubbs. On June 20th 1959, Larry married the love of his life Georgene Eickhoff. They shared 66 years of blessed marriage. Larry was a devout member of Luther Memorial Church in Fond du Lac. Along with his loving wife, Georgene, they raised two children in faith, Matthew (Holly) Stubbs and Michelle (Stubbs) Soper. Larry graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. In 1956 Larry attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Larry was thankful to have served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-56. After the service he started a 36 year long career with Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline. (A.N.R Pipeline, Coastal Corp). He started as a mechanic, then was a welder, foreman, and retiring as a superintendent at the Eden Office. Larry served as a Fond du Lac County Deputy sheriff. Larry loved sports, especially softball, still playing at the age of 91 with the wonderful friends of Fond du Lac Seniors. He skated for the Fond du Lac Bears from 1956-58. He was an avid trout fisherman. He also loved deer hunting which was the biggest holiday of the year for him. Larry enjoyed a good round of golf at various local courses. He loved the cottage "Up North" enjoying the time with all the friends they made over the years. He was a member of the Dotyville Hunting and Fishing Club and the Long Lake IA Association in Mercer, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by parents, Edson and Jessie (Scherer) Stubbs; his siblings and in-laws, Helen Supple (Fred), Robert Stubbs (Bertyl) and Lois Hobbs (John), his mother-in-law, Helen (Gyr) Eickhoff Immel and his father-in-law, Wilton Eickhoff. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Georgene (Eickhoff) Stubbs; his son, Matthew (Holly) Stubbs; his daughter, Michelle (Stubbs) Soper; his grandchildren, Samantha Stubbs Wirtz (Adam), Joshua Stubbs, Daniel Stubbs (Sofia) and Shannon Stubbs (Adam Acosta); his great-grandchildren, Javier Stubbs, Harper Stubbs, Marco Stubbs and Leopaldo Stubbs. Larry Is further survived by brothers-in-law, Phillip Eickhoff (Rosie), William Eickhoff (Chris) and Lynn Immel (Jackie), many beloved nieces and nephews, a wonderful church family and many friends. VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac. Burial, with military honor rites, will follow in Rienzi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Luther Memorial Church or the SSM Hospice House of Hope Fond du Lac.
