Loureha A. Heller

Loureha A. Heller, 96, formerly of Van Dyne, died Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was known as “Ma” and “Grandma Heller” to many in the Van Dyne area and at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, where she resided for the past four years.She was born on June 9, 1914, in Eldorado, a daughter of Frederick H. and Albertina W. Abraham Henke.On January 6, 1945, she married Harvey A. Heller and farmed for 43 years until his death in 1988.Loureha was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Nekimi. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is survived by four children: LeRoy (Janice) Heller of Hancock, Howard (Mary) Heller of Fond du Lac, Orville (Katie) Heller of Fond du Lac, and Karen Koplitz of Oshkosh; three grandchildren: Amy (Chris) Polzin, Dan (Joan) Heller, and Aaron (Stefanie) Heller; a step-granddaughter, Lori (Dan) Bellmer; five great-grandchildren: Jonathon, Michael, Erika Patterson, and Ben and Kate Heller; a step-great-granddaughter, Mindy Bellmer; a step-great-great-grandson, Adrian Bellmer; a sister, Louella “Dena” Gieschen of Fond du Lac, a sister-in-law, Faye Henke of Fond du Lac; and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey on December 29, 1988; a brother, Alfred Henke; four sisters: Verona (Ed) Albrecht, Irene (Herb) Stahmann, Lillian (Albert) Nemitz, Edna (Harvey) Nitschke; a brother-in-law, Sigurd Gieschen; four nieces and five nephews.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 491 Old Oregon Street Road, Oskhosh, with Rev. Dean Desilet officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nekimi.The visitation will be on Thursday, October 28, 2010, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, and on Friday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.The family would like to thank the staff of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home and Agnesian Hospice Hope for all the care they gave our mother. A special thanks to good friends, Eleanor Gratton and Robert Schultz for always being there for our mother.
