William R. Paul

William R. Paul, 70, of N5096 Oak Hill Road, Town of Empire, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at home.He was born on October 4, 1937, in Niagara Falls, a son of the late William Howard and Mary Harriet (nee Cromley) Paul.He served in the United States Air Force.“Bill” married Irene Rossi , in Springfield, MA, on June 18, 1960. She preceded him in death in 1992 He then married Paula Kath Burgess on October 21, 1995. From 1960 until 1972, he worked for Hamilton Standard. In 1972, “Will” went to work for R.E. Phelon as an electrical engineer and OEM Sales Manager until his retirement in 2002. Following his retirement, he worked at Pick ‘n Save and Merz RV Center. He also served as a volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital and Portland House. Will was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Parish and was a communion distributor. He was also a life-time member of the Knights of Columbus.He enjoyed his motor home and camping, golfing with his buddies, watching the Patriots and Packers, and traveling.He is survived by his wife, Paula; sons: Steven Paul of Westfield, MA, and Michael (Mary) Paul of Windsor Locks, CT; a daughter, Susan (Jim) LaCroix of Feeding Hills, MA; a son, Jimmy (Stacy) Burgess of Joplin, MO; daughters: Jenny Burgess (Jason Steblow) of Westfield, and Amy Kissel (Curt Freund) of Fond du Lac; eleven grandchildren: John, Erica, Ryan, Rebecca, Rachel, Hunter, Ethan, Ryne, Haley, Cameron, and Taylor; two brothers: Ray (Debbie) Paul of Baltimore, MD, and Bob (Donna) Paul of Millersville, MD; his mother-in-law, Dolores Kath of Fond du Lac; three sisters-in-law: Leslie (Gregor) Nigh of Sun Prairie, Barb (Steve) Tremel of New London, Lynne (Tom) Cardinal of Germantown; a brother-in-law, Tommy Kath of Fond du Lac; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Houle of Waterford, CT; a brother-in-law, Till Bavieri of Ludlow, MA; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.His father-in-law, Thomas Kath, and a sister-in-law, Adelaide Bavieri further preceded him in death.The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, August 11, 2008, at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Parish, W1562 County Road B, Eden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Monday at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Parish with Fr. Joseph J. Juknialis officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Trier-Puddy Post 75, Fond du Lac.
