William F. Peachy

William F. Peachy, 81, a resident of Eldorado, died unexpectedly, on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at his residence.He was born on October 20, 1925, in Rosendale, a son of Adin and Verna Burleton Peachy.Following high school, William enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the 3rd Armored Division under General George S. Patton in Germany during World War II. Following the war, he became employed with National Rivet in Waupun.On September 25, 1948, William married Madonna D. Henning at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Eldorado. Together they farmed in the Town of Eldorado until 1978. He then returned to National Rivet until his retirement in 1990.William was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Eldorado, serving on the church council, was a member of the church choir and enjoyed attending Bible study. He was presently serving as Post Commander of Rosendale V.F.W. Post 10195 and was a member of Getchel-Nelson Post 210, The American Legion, Waupun.He is survived by his wife, Madonna; eight children: Dave Peachy of Eldorado, Linda (Stan) Jahn of Fond du Lac, Gloria Frank of Eldorado, Steven (Susan) Peachy of Eldorado, Craig (Lori) Peachy of Fond du Lac, Mark Peachy of Eldorado, Brenda (Russ) Broderick of Eldorado, Sheila (Michael) Kucera of Fond du Lac; 19 grandchildren: Tonya (Gary) Schneiter, Rev. Jay (Melissa) Bickelhaupt, Tammy Hofstede, Randy (Trease) Frank, Shelly (Odo) Dietle, Steven Peachy, Jr. (special friend Roberta Cloud), Stacy Peachy, Samantha Peachy, Craig (Candy) Peachy, Billie Joe (Kyle) Loehr, Mark Peachy, Jr., Stephanie Peachy (special friend Joel Schumacher), Joseph Peachy, Madonna Jo (Jason) Challoner, Sarah Broderick (fiancé Seth Freiberg), Tyler Broderick (special friend Tina Schaefer), Amanda (Ignacio) Martinez, Jordon Pinch (special friend Crystal Bunkelman), Kaela Kucera; 20 great-grandchildren; and a special aunt, Josephine Peachy.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Adin and Forrest Peachy; a sister, Thelma (Art) Harmsen; a son-in-law, Bill Bickelhaupt; and a great-grandson, Gavynn Schneiter.The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Eldorado, with the Rev. Aaron Odya officiating. Burial will follow in Rosendale Cemetery. The visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
